Using the data
Data on AIDB keeps the license of its source. Most of it is public domain or CC0 (Wikidata, U.S. government sources) and can be used for anything. Some datasets are CC BY or CC BY-SA, or carry an Open Government Licence; those require attribution and, for share-alike, that derivatives use the same license. Each dataset page and API response states its license and any required attribution. See sources & licenses.
AIDB's own compilations, page layouts and code are © AIDB. Contributions you submit are released under CC0.
Accuracy
AIDB republishes what its sources say, with the source attached, and does not invent or estimate values. Sources can be wrong or out of date. Don't rely on AIDB alone for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions; check the cited source.
API use
The API is free within the daily limits on the pricing page. Don't try to get around limits (for example by rotating IP addresses), don't resell raw API access, and keep your key secret. We may block traffic that degrades the service for others.
Personal data
AIDB covers public figures and public officials, using information published by reputable open sources and official institutions. We do not publish private individuals' contact details, and we only show official, institution-published contact details for public officials. If you are the subject of a page and want something corrected or removed, email data@aidb.si — we respond within 48 hours and honour rights under the GDPR.
Privacy
- No accounts, no advertising trackers, and no cookies for analytics.
- Page views are counted by alcock.ai, an analytics service run by AIDB's owner. It records the page address, referring page, browser type, country, and a salted one-way hash that changes daily — no cookies and no raw IP addresses. Add
?notrack=1to any page URL to opt out on your browser. - For rate limits and abuse prevention we store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address with daily request counts. We never store raw IP addresses.
- Entity page views are counted anonymously (entity id and date only) to rank popular pages.
- If you contribute, we store what you submit. Your name is shown only if you give one; your email is private and used only to follow up on your contribution.
- Paid plans are billed by Stripe; we store your billing email and a hash of your API key.
- Theme preference and recent searches are kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us.

Spot an error? Report it or email data@aidb.si. For copyright or licensing concerns, email the same address with the URL and the basis of the claim; we act within 48 hours.
