The Macintosh Plus is the third model in the Compact Macintosh line, introduced on January 16, 1986, two years after the original Macintosh and slightly more than a year after the Macintosh 512K, at a price of US$2,599. As an evolutionary improvement over the 512K, it shipped with 1 MB of RAM, expandable to 4 MB, and introduced a higher-speed external SCSI peripheral bus, among other improvements.
